April A to Z Challenge: J is for jellied snakes and jubes

It’s a long drive home from Goulburn – 700 kilometers.  I can’t drive a manual car with this boot on my left foot so my poor husband is doing the long haul.  We have had some jelly snakes for nibbles why are they so chewy these days?  I have rotated between writing, reading and playing games on the iPad.  At present I am in the back set with my foot up – not that comfortable!  The boot of the car is full of firewood the men and boys collected by cutting up the dead branches laying around out daughter’s property.  We will have a wonderful warm open fire this winter.  Looking forward to getting out of the car in about three hours time!  (written two days ago now safely home in Melbourne)  Won’t be having any jelly snakes for a while!
