April A to Z Challenge: I is for isolated

We have just returned after spending a few days at our daughter and son in laws property in an isolated area off the Hume Highway a little north of Goulburn NSW.  It is always lovely to see them and our two grandsons are always very excited when we arrive. My son-in-law manages the fish farm on the property and they live in the bush with the kangaroos, wombats, deer and wonderful bird life.  The air is clear and there are beautiful blue skies, crisp nights and skies laden with stars on clear nights.  Their old Labrador/retriever is ever vigilant in keeping the kangaroos at bay every night.  They grow their own vegetables and cook delicious meals using their home-grown tomatoes, capsicums, chillies, garlic, beetroot, chillies and herbs to name but a few.  The children love helping Dad collect firewood and working in the veggie patch and of course picking the raspberries and strawberries and cherry tomatoes.  It may be isolated but it is beautiful Australian bush I can see why they love it.
