It’s school holidays so we were on grandparent duty yesterday. We had a delightful day. James the seven year old spent most of his time with his grandfather doing maths games on the computer while Grace the soon to be six year old and I had a lovely time choosing fabrics and patterns to sew up a storm. Her sister is about to turn four so we decided to make her a present for her birthday. Grace made a list with all the activities planned for the day and we ticked them off as we did them. During the course of the day we made a shoulder bag, a purse and decorated a headband with cute buttons. Grace proudly wrapped them in pretty paper with ribbon and stuck a heart on top. She said to me “Oma I think we should give it to her together on her birthday” What a lovely gesture! She and James are already planning what they are going to make next Tuesday. They love going through the book of projects and helping me cut out and sew their creations. Grace is very neat and tidy and is happy to put everything away when we are finished. Well I didn’t have much time to think about hobbling around on my boot all day.
