Unity Vase

unity vaseThis weekend’s wedding is a little different.  The bride is American and she wanted a ceremony that was upbeat and different with very little traditional wording.  I have done quite a bit of research over the last few months and have come up with a very different ceremony to the usual traditional style that most of my couples like.  It has been a great challenge and it has made me think outside the square.  Sometimes we uses phrases which are tried and true and work really well but there are many different approaches that can be taken and I have enjoyed the process .  They are incorporating the symbol of the unity vase and have involved both sets of parents in the ritual.  There will be a combination of Australian dirt,  US dirt, seashells from the Gold Coast, dried flowers, stones from a significant park, and a prayer book.  I will keep you posted how it goes!
