Every autumn I work at The Royal Melbourne Hospital 2 or three days a week as a nurse vaccinator giving staff their flu vaccines. Two years ago one of my colleagues there was excited about her son being one of the contestants on Master chef. She was sworn to secrecy as the filming was finished but out of curiosity I started watching the show to see how her son got on. That was it I was hooked and now look forward to it being screened every year. I received an invitation via twitter to go to the fete at the Melbourne Showgrounds today so as I had a day off I went along. It was a beautiful day though the sun was a bit too hot to be standing around too long. The contestants were in three teams and had to cook fete style food. The queues were extremely long and I wasn’t very hungry so I left early without waiting for the food. However I managed to get some photos of Matt, George and Gary and Nigella Lawson. It was interesting to see they way the food was judged so I look forward to seeing it on television.
