10 hours is a long time to spend at work I decided today. Fortunately we were not that busy for my first day back at Day Procedure. I had to reflect on my three week holiday. I had a lovely time with the children and grandchildren with Christmas and birthday celebrations, the usual end of year choir concerts: carols in the cathedral at St Pauls and the annual performance of The Messiah at The Melbourne Town Hall. Two weddings before Christmas (one in 42 degree heat!) A quiet new year’s eve at my daughter’s in Goulburn and then into funeral mode at the big opening of Bunurong Memorial Park’s new facilities. I sometimes wake up in the morning and have to work out which hat I need to wear for the day! The trouble is I like them all and love the variety and challenges of my life. When I finished my shift at Day Patients today I met a lovely new bride in the city then came home to a quiet evening with my husband and am enjoying a glass of wine as I write this! Back to admissions tomorrow, one day I will settle down!
