Bridal Entrance Music

It seems like the days of everyone walking down the aisle to ‘Here Comes The Bride’ are dwindling somewhat… couples are becoming more and more personal when it comes to their bridal entrance music, and even some grooms are also choosing to have an entrance song (I saw a groom enter once with all his ushers to ‘The Boys Are Back in Town’!).

You can always go for something standard, like the aforementioned ‘Here Comes The Bride’, or the gorgeous ‘Canon in D’, however, couples seem to be choosing more personal songs. After all, it’s the first and most important part of your big day, so why not make it something more ‘you’?

I have searched Youtube, Google and wedding forums, and quizzed hundreds of you on Facebook and Twitter, and everyone has had amazing ideas and stories! However, here’s my top 10 (fun and slightly different) bridal entrance music ideas:

  1. I’m Yours – Jason Mraz
I think this is such a romantic song, and the care-free reggae feel would bring a beautiful atmosphere to the ceremony.
  2. Pretty Woman – Roy Orbison
What fun this would be! I can just imagine the bridesmaids coming in over the intro riff… Makes me smile.
  3. Somewhere Over the Rainbow – Hawaiian Version by Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo?ole
    Just stunning!
  4. Waiting for a Star to Fall – Boy Meets Girl
Reminds me of that fabulous wedding scene in ‘three men and a little lady’ – always a great feel good track!
  5. I Believe in a Thing Called Love – The Darkness
This one made me laugh out loud when someone told me they walked down the aisle to this, but what a perfect song! If you’re looking to make a real entrance and have something that people will never forget, perhaps this is for you?
  6. If I Ain’t Got You – Alicia Keys
Just gorgeous… I can imagine this would be perfect! I saw a clip on youtube of a stunning bride walking down the aisle to a Hawaiian sounding instrumental version; it was a real tearjerker!
  7. Songbird – Fleetwood Mac/Eva Cassidy
Both versions of this song are beautiful. Perfect lyrics to be sung whilst you lay eyes on your hubby/wife to be for the first time.
  8. All You Need is Love – The Beatles
Very popular since it was used in ‘Love Actually’, and guaranteed to bring a smile to everyone’s face!
  9. Groovy Kind of Love – Phil Collins
Everyone loves a bit of Phil, and this song is just gorgeous.
  10. By Your Side – Sade
Someone suggested this online, and although it’s not hugely well known, it sounds gorgeous, and I think would bring a tear to anyone in the congregation’s eye!
